Tom Martin

THOMAS GEORGE “TOM” MARTIN, 83, died Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Hendrick Hospice Care. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Anson. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home. Family visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home.

Born February 2, 1940, in Stamford, Tom was the son of the late Kenneth and Hyburnia (Spraberry) Martin. He graduated from Anson High School. Tom attended Tarleton Junior College and later graduated from North Texas State University. He earned his Master’s degree in Education from East Texas State University. Tom married Frances Williams on July 27, 1963 in Fort Worth. He coached and taught school in Mt Vernon, Seymour and Mesquite. Tom was an administrator in Mesquite schools until retiring in 1997. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anson. Tom was a member of the Roadrunners Car Club.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his wife (Frances Martin).

Survivors include his son David Martin of Fort Worth; a dear friend, Linda Kay Manwarren of Tuscola; and numerous cousins and friends.
