July 03, 2023

Attorney and Judge, Isaac M. Castro, has announced his candidacy for the office of District Attorney for the 259th Judicial District that includes Jones and Shackelford Counties. Castro is a Republican.
A former prosecutor, Castro has been in private practice in Hamlin since 1986. He has a long record of public service, including serving as Mayor of the City of Hamlin, Hamlin School Board Trustee, Vice Chair of the Jones County Appraisal District, and Jones County Republican Party Chairman. Early in his career, he was the Stonewall County Attorney. He also served as Assistant District Attorney for Jones and Shackelford Counties. He has been a delegate to several Texas Republican Conventions and elected at the state conventions to serve as delegate to three Republican National Conventions.
As he did during his prior years as a prosecutor, Castro believes existing laws should be enforced fairly but firmly in order to keep the public safe from crime to the fullest extent possible consistent with the United States and Texas Constitutions.
