Justin Coonrod

Justin Colby Coonrod, 38, of Hawley passed away January 21, 2023. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 11:00 am in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories with Jake Mills officiating. Visitation will be held prior to graveside service from 9:30-10:30 am at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 US Highway 277 S. in Abilene. Justin was born on January 21, 1985, to Donald Herbert Coonrod, Jr and Gwen Coonrod in Abilene. He was raised in the close-knit community of Hawley where he attended local schools and graduated from Hawley High School in 2003. He went on to attend Texas Tech University where he graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Accounting in 2006. After graduation, Justin remained a loyal Red Raiders Fan, it was almost his life. In 2012, he welcomed his only child, Cale who was his greatest accomplishment.He also passed his love for Texas Tech on to him. Justin was an employee at Abi-Mar, where he met Missy, who became the love of his life. Together they shared many special memories. He was currently employed with W&W AFCO Steel/Hirschfeld Industries. Justin loved fishing, hunting, spending time with those he loved, the cowboys and of course TECH! He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Herbert Coonrod, Jr.; his paternal grandfather, Donald Herbert Coonrod, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Peggy Carter. Justin is survived by Missy Montalvo; his son, Cale Coonrod; his mother, Gwen; his grandmother, Gwendolyn B. Coonrod; brothers, Corbin, wife Amber and their son, Case; Chance, wife Harley and their daughter, Emmalee; aunts and uncles, Terri Low, Sue Norton, Ronda and Mitch Cullen.
