Jimmy Jones

Jimmy Jones, 83, died Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at his home. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2022, at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Adams-Graham Funeral Home. Born September 30, 1938 in Anson, Jimmy was a son of the late Mose Jones and Vera (Tucker) Jones. He graduated from Anson High School and attended Hardin Simmons University. Jimmy married Brenda Johnson in 1976. He worked as a Jones County deputy sheriff and as a truck driver. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Jones of Abilene; two sons, Jimmy Eugene Jones (and wife, Melissa) of Abilene and Leo Stinett of Abilene; two daughters, Patricia Moore of Abilene and Kathy Grounds (husband, Scott) of Odessa; one sister, Patsy Howard (and husband, Joe) of Cornelius, North Carolina; a half sister, Marylce Girard of Oregon; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Family visitation will be 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Adams-Graham Funeral Home.
